30 years after the release of Grandma Goes South (screened at CinEast 2021), the first film made in independent Slovenia, director Vinci Vogue Anžlovar returns with Grandpa Goes South, a fast-paced action-filled and delightfully entertaining story about two elderly friends.

Vlado, a retired jazz musician, decides to take his fellow musician Boris, who is undergoing cancer treatment, to Serbia in his camper van so Boris can say goodbye to his lost love Neda. After their escape from the hospital, Vlado nearly runs over Esma, a rising young singer, who is also on the run as an accidental witness to an assassination. The adventure of their lifetime has just begun…
