In a village where everyone is packing their bags and leaving, good-natured handyman Redjo is the last man standing in the village of Sllupkovo, determined to keep life going against all odds. It isn’t always easy to satisfy his overbearing wife (the excellent Adriana Matoshi), or his ever-demanding clients, especially when he is forced to take care of suspicious deliveries for the local boss. It’s hard not to sympathise with the kind-hearted Redjo, who always does his very best, even though circumstances often work against him. This light-hearted and entertaining film follows Redjo, the village’s jack-of-all-trades, as he stumbles through a series of comic misadventures, taking on every odd job imaginable in the hope of giving his family the seaside holiday they have always dreamt of. While it touches on pressing social issues such as emigration, corruption, crime, poverty, gender equality and injustice, it does so with a gentle touch, offering an experience that is both thought-provoking and enjoyable.
