Exhibition: Polish Film Posters 1960–1990
This exhibition celebrates three decades of the legendary Polish School of Poster Art, showcasing how some of the country’s most talented artists reimagined cinema through their unique visual language. Between 1960 and 1990, names such as Andrzej Krajewski, Roman Cieślewicz, Jakub Erol, Waldemar Świerzy or Jerzy Flisak pushed the boundaries of poster design, creating works that were not only promotional tools but also pieces of art.
In an era shaped by censorship, propaganda, and cultural isolation, Polish artists found inventive ways to interpret both domestic and international films. Far from being mere advertisements, these posters became a powerful visual commentary on art, society, and politics. Each design carried the artist’s signature style, often balancing state-imposed limitations with an extraordinary level of creativity and freedom of thought.

This exhibition is organized in cooperation with Cineast asbl and with financial support of Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Economy in Luxembourg.
