Whites Wash at Ninety is an inspiring true story of Bronja Žakelj, tracing her life through three distinct stages. As a child, she explores the world alongside her younger brother Rok and finds solace in her grandmother Dada. Her carefree days, however, are cut short by her mother’s illness. In her late teens, Bronja herself faces a life-threatening disease, which she manages to overcome with remarkable determination. Despite numerous hardships that might seem insurmountable, Bronja remains optimistic and overcomes her struggles with inspiring courage, finding hope even among the tears.
The film is based on the acclaimed, best-selling autobiography of the same name, which has been translated into numerous languages, including English. It is a moving testament to the resilience of the human spirit, chronicling Bronja’s journey of growth, healing and personal transformation, while offering hope and inspiration to audiences worldwide.
