BST Bartek Stepien Trio is return of Bartosz Stępień to the freshness of playing jazz music thanks to him combo with young musicians, who are in the most absorbing stage of their musical development.

“Over the years, I have played in many groups that performed different types of music. From Dixieland played on the streets, through jam session in jazz clubs. Then came concerts on big and small stages both fully improvised and that played note by note.  Recently, I am engaged in many different styles of music: from the symphonic Queen's Symphony, the Star Wars Concerto, or the music of Wojtek Lemański's Culture Clash with the excellent chamber orchestra PRIMUZ, to free-band performances with the band FreeDTrio.  Nevertheless, I still recall this incredible breeze of joy when playing jazz standards.  And for that, I come to you for a concert with my trio with young musicians, all sharing my love for paying jazz standards.”

In the programme you will find compositions by Thelonious Monk, Ray Noble, Johnny Mandel, Gene De Paul and others.

Bartosz Stępień – bass

A graduate from the Academy of Music in Lodz, from a master calls of prof. Wladyslaw Romanowski.  He received his jazz education from jazz workshops in Chodzież and Pulawy led by such double bass player like Zbigniew Wegehaupt, Andrzej Cudzich, Marcin Pospieszalski and teachers from Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA). Over his 20 year career, Bartosz cooperated with such musicians like Marta Wilk, Janusz Skowron, Maciej Strzelczyk, Maciej Tubis, Włodzimierz Pawlik, Włodzimierz Kiniorski (African Snow Mamadou i Orkestra Świętokrzyska), Witek Janiak or Michał Kobojek.

Marcel Baliński – piano

A student of jazz master class of Joachim Mencel in the Music Academy in Cracow and of the jazz department of the F. Chopin’s  music school in Warsaw.  He regularly organises and plays at the weekly jam sessions in Lodz.

Filip Wolski – drums

He is a fresh graduate from the jazz department of S. Moniuszko music school in Lodz. He is currently a student of the jazz department of the F. Chopin’s music school in Warsaw.
